I've been meditating on this Hexagram for a week and trying to understand its meaning, but I honestly don't understand

I asked: "What is my mission in this life? What is the purpose of my birth? Why am I here?" And I got 45.2.4.5 > 7.

HEX 45
Key Questions
What is asked of you? What are you investing in?
Oracle
'Gathering, creating success.
The king enters his temple.
Fruitful to see great people, creating success.
Constancy bears fruit.
Using great sacrificial animals: good fortune.
Fruitful to have a direction to go.'

Changing Lines

Line 2

'Being drawn. Good fortune, no mistake.
With truth and confidence, it is fruitful to make the summer offering.'

Line 4

'Great good fortune, no mistake.'

Line 5

'Gathering, there is a position – no mistake.
No trust at all.
From the source, ever-flowing constancy – regrets vanish.'

Does that mean being in a leadership position? But... of what? If so, I don't see how I could apply to my personal life.

Any insights or shared experience would be welcome!

Quite an unusual question, as it presupposes that there is a mission and purpose in life.
So I don't know how to answer your question, as I don't know that there's any mission in life.
But I'll tell you my experience with this reading.

At a previous job I had, a new CEO arrived. It was obvious from the first moment that she was a highly vicious and malicious person. A few months later she forced all staff to go on an 'away day', at a hotel where we'd have to sleep over, to 'discuss the direction of the company' (I mean, how much crazier than that can you get...). There was no management present during those discussions, only two externally hired moderators. All staff, without exception, told the moderators how we felt bullied, belittled, many sacked without notice and without reason etc. The next day I returned home and I asked: "what will be the main overall result of those discussions?", and I got your cast.

So what was the result - nothing. For many months the situation continued in the same horrific manner. Then about 6 months later, a member of staff sent an anonymous letter to the trustees, complaining about the dreadful CEO. The result of that was that the CEO said that the trustees will investigate the matter. Next thing we knew was all the trustees were gone and the CEO had hired new ones of her liking!

The war never ended and her aim seems to have been that she wanted to completely dismantle that charity/company. I was eventually made redundant too, and I don't know the current status of that company, but the company that the CEO was managing prior to this one, went bankrupt.

So the way I see it, 45.2.4.5 > 7 = within a group a dishonest leading figure is creating war.
Is there such a figure in your life?

Hi diamanda,
Thank you for sharing your experience!

I reflected on what you said. I see from your situation that a battle was involved and hurt people. However, currently the only people I get involved with are my parents, so I don't see that figure in my life.
In fact, throughout my life I have met many people with whom I have had to contend, but none in a leadership position or who harm me.

I'll continue to try to unravel the meaning of this Hexagram! ✨

"What is my mission in this life? What is the purpose of my birth? Why am I here?" And I got 45.2.4.5 > 7"

Hexagram 45 overall seems to be telling you that finding your clan/tribe is important to your life's mission, the purpose of your birth, and why you are here. And Hexagram 7 seems to imply that your purpose involves organizing a large group, as a leader within the group or as the group leader. Although your purpose and mission are likely tied to a larger group, it may not be the time for you to know what group yet. Here are some of my thoughts on why not:

For some people, their purpose is tied extremely close to the purposes of others, or even to a particular time. For those it may not be possible to intimately know one's purpose if the people with whom you are to serve or are meant to lead are even themselves not in position to live out their purpose. Or if the situation to which you all are called to serve/lead has not yet happened or the people who you are called to serve/lead are not yet ready. I get the feeling that the purpose you are called to is great, and that is why the passion is swelling up within you so intensely, perhaps even begging for answers. It feels to me that you will get your answers at the right time. I also feel that it may be most important to focus on what you must do now in preparation. Life has a way of giving us experiences that develop us for our future in ways that we are not aware of at the time. My advice would be to ask something like "What can I do now to prepare for my purpose/mission?"

What is my mission in this life? The answer seems to be in 45.2. Let yourself be led. Are you drawn to certain people or endeavors in this time? See where this takes you. Paying attention to what you are drawn to could lead you closer to your mission. Often, walking our path means just seeing the road in front of us, without having the entire map.

What is the purpose of my birth? The answer seems to be in 45.4. Perhaps you are meant to gather people together to support a cause or a leader, or to be that leader. Again, if this is the case, perhaps that cause or leader have yet to surface. If you are that leader, perhaps life is still shaping you for that role to come. Can you see how present or past circumstances are meant to shape you as a leader?

Why am I here? The answer seems to be in 45.5. Seems to imply that when one arrives at a position of leadership, there will be some followers that do not fully support. Maintain your virtue at that time, and you will eventually win over those that were not fully supporting. I think that this could mean that you are one leader within the organization or the leader of the organization, but either way it means that you can win people over if you maintain your integrity. Which, brings us back to Hexagram 7 - A leader who has won the confidence of his/her followers.

In summary: perhaps you are called to lead. But perhaps it is not necessary to know your exact mission and purpose and this time. I know that can be frustrating. Be led in that direction - be a good follower of your own path, and trust it will lead you to the right leadership position for you. At that time, be steadfast in your virtue - do not compromise your integrity - and you will win the support of all your followers. For now, let yourself be led and you will find the circumstances that will shape you into the leader you are meant to be.

Diamada's post is a good example of a leader who has not won the support of followers though integrity. It is a good example that great power used irresponsibly can go horribly wrong. It is a warning that when your time of leadership comes, you must be steadfast and virtuous or risk both losing both the support of others and the organization itself. It's ironic that the CEO's previous company went bankrupt as she seems to be spiritually bankrupt as well.

I read your answer several times. I am impressed by your thorough interpretation!
As I read, I found myself in the sentences. In fact, it is as if I feel that I need to find the answers for a reason, but I am not yet ready to get it. But everything has a purpose. I may be developing in myself what I need ... for the right time.
Things will just flow if I don't compromise my integrity.

"My advice would be to ask something like" What can I do now to prepare for my purpose / mission? ""
This is something that had not crossed my mind yet! Thank you for this insight!

"Often, walking our path means just seeing the road in front of us, without having the entire map." Synchronicity is something interesting: I repeat a phrase similar to this one all the time.

"Can you see how present or past circumstances are meant to shape you as a leader?"
This is something to reflect on. It may take a few days to do a thorough retrospective.

Thank you! 🌼
