Hello everyone
I'm a bit confused with the (clear) advice i was given and the relation with what is happening,
would anyone care to comment:

I'm heading to London in February to attend one of two workshops that happen at the same time, one of them (A) I have done before and the facilitator knows me and the other (B) would be a new venture.

I intuitively went for A, to continue with the work I have started, but as it's 3 times more expensive and the teacher just didn't reply to my mail, I started doubting and asked the Y:

Isn't beneficial for me and my path to join workshop A? 45 .2.5 > 40

I felt it as a really encouraging response, a clear Yes, going to see the great man and all. "There are secret forces at work, leading together those who belong together. We must yield to this attraction; then we make no mistakes."
No doubts, I'm going. My decision was made.

But then he never replied or picked up the phone, I have to book flights and accommodations and all, and at some point I just wanted to drop A and just go for B, so:

What could be the benefits of dropping A and go for B instead? 24.6 > 27

Line 6 is just scary, misfortune from within and without and something that can't be fix for a long long time...
I completely dropped the idea of workshop B...

But now I was just on the phone with the teacher from A and he doesn't take me into his workshop. He says I'm not ready, it's for people who have done much more work with him, it's a very intense 7 day venture and he feels I need a stronger base. So we negotiated coming together for a smaller weekend workshop somewhere else in Europe later in the year - he will let me know dates eventually...

So now, no possibility of going for marvelous 45/40 workshop A, and a really scary line in workshop B...
Can you share some thoughts on this with me?

Thank you!

Hi again,

I was quite excited to finally have a non-love-related query to share here  one I was really intrigued about, but I don't know if I was too lengthy or the topic too pale, because nobody reacted - so I'm saving by thread back into first page ;) with the outcome I made of it:

I looked into the lines again carefully and checked translations from other sources and started pondering on the possibility that the Y was telling that I shouldn't give up on workshop A, because perhaps this phone conversation I had with the teacher where he told me I couldn't join will reveal to be benefitial in future scenarios. Maybe he realised I'm really motivated to work with him and gives me a push further in future workshops, I don't know.

45.5 talks about people who come to the gathering and are not sincere in the work, and at first I wouldn't take that as being me, but now it sounds a bit like the role he gave me: "The only means of dealing with such people is to gain their confidence through steadfastness and intensified, unswerving devotion to duty. In this way secret mistrust will gradually be overcome," so perhaps he dosn't trust my motivations and wants to see if I persevere, and this can actually strenghten our work together.

... because the actual phrasing of the second question was "What if I just drop A and go for B?" and not "Is B a good idea?"

So perhaps the Y was telling me - try the A first, it's gonna fail, no problem, but you put your foot in the door and then you can go for B.

I booked myself a place in workshop B, bought flights to London and then I asked the Y:

"Given the impossibility of joining A will it benefit me to join B?" 12.6 > 45
Stagnation comes to an end, through continuous effort, good fortune.

It kinna seems to fall into place, now...
Would love to hear other opinions
Thanks for reading :bows:

Yo,
I came to your thread only now, having drawn myself this scary 24.6 > 27.
My interpretation of your hexagram would have been that workshop B had a meaningful something in store for you and missing it would have been an important loss. Has it been so?

The question I asked the Yi is about how is my financial situation evolving. I'm without a job since many months now, and living from my savings which are almost gone.
The six at the top line scared the **** out of me, so I asked the Yi how I should behave not to "miss the return" and got 40.1.2.3 > 55.
I'd love any comment on this response.

Dear Emiliana,

as you see there were no more comments to this thread so the only interpretations I can offer you are my own, and those i have written already in the above posts. It is strange now to look back and actually see what happened.

So, I dropped workshop A and went for B, in the hope the teacher from A would do a follow up on me months later and include me in the smaller workshops, like he said he would do. He never got in touch again and nothing else happened.

Workshop B was fairly nice at the time, but that school dismantled right after that and there was no continuity, nor am i in touch with any of the people. Nothing remained from that experience.

So if you ask me now, it was all pretty pointless. It didn't add much to my life nor my career.
So perhaps I really shouldn't have had dropped A... maybe this 24.6 is really to be taken seriously, but in my situation I had no choice - the teacher wouldn't take me. :brickwall:

On 40.1.2.3 > 55
my personal (beginners) take on it would be that it is not a single handed approach to it, because the lines seem a bit contradictory. L2 tells you to go for the hunt and be perseverant, maybe apply for 3 different jobs ;) but L3 warns about carrying unnecessary weights while your at it, and how that exposes you to further danger.
Which unnecessary burden or expectation could you be carrying while looking for a new job?
I think this answer is quite confusing also because you are asking about a metaphor from another answer. So you are building up on something that perhaps you didn't fully understand first.
I would take a step back and ask you:

to which question was 24.6 > 27 an answer?

Best of luck!!!
