I asked the I Ching

Why did God create man?

Answer:
12.6 - 45

Stagnation coming to an end with Gathering Together and religious forces needing a human leader.

rosada

p.s.
Hilary's translation says Stagnation is caused by "non-people"!

Well, either way, people have always been aware of God because Manifestations were sent, even to the earliest peoples of prehistory, to form a Covenant between souls on earth and the Divine. No matter how ancient the religion or the symbolism used, the basis is the same.

God created humanity because as intelligent beings the human race were able to directly benefit from His love and create an ever-evolving civilisation by more and more mirroring His attributes. This is a process that relies increasingly upon the unity and cooperative efforts of mankind, which is growing ever stronger.

Why did God create man?
12.6 > 45

☰ ☱
☷ ☷

Hexagram pictures: Uprooted Clump of Grass (straw and soil) and Temple Gate (worship).

Overall judgment: Like us, when God was young he liked to play with mud and made a plaything in his own image, one that could be worshipfully grateful for having been created.

Text:

12J
Standstill. Evil people do not further
The perseverance of the superior man.
The great departs; the small approaches.

The mud part means we have feet of clay.

12I
Heaven and earth do not unite:
The image of Standstill.
Thus the superior man falls back upon his inner worth
In order to escape the difficulties.
He does not permit himself to be honored with revenue.

"Inner worth" is the divine spark within. "He does not permit himself to be honored with revenue." The superior person does not define inner worth in terms of material goods .

12.6
The standstill comes to an end.
First standstill, then good fortune.

Mortality can be transcended by cultivation of the inner spark.

45J
Gathering Together. Success.
The king approaches his temple.
It furthers one to see the great man.
This brings success. Perseverance furthers.
To bring great offerings creates good fortune.
It furthers one to undertake something.

Confucius said: Reciprocity is the beginning of gentility.

Did Rosada mean: Is the question about why God created mankind on earth in the first place?

A Course in Miracles and several other sources say that God created one Child, on the soul level, not myriads of people as we now see each other, in physical bodies.

This universe, according to those sources, came into being with the Big Bang, and this was mainly the doing of the Son/Daughter, who apparently fragmented at that time (?) into all the separated souls. Did I/we burst asunder?

The design and construction of the human body was something that occurred over billions of years, but again it is said this happened because the separated souls desired it to happen, not because God created souls encased in bodies . . .

. . . which is quite a painful state to be in, actually.

Free will had been extended to the separated souls ... to do what they wanted to do ... and apparently what we wanted to do was come into denser form, into the physical shapes in which we now see ourselves.

I don't personally remember being present at the Big Bang ... I am lucky if I can remember to take my vitamins in the morning ... but it is said by mystics that we as souls were in existence long before there were any 'men.'

I think 12.6 refers to finding a creative way out of stagnation. But that could refer to anything, on any level. Your very question, Rosada, for some reason caused me to burst out laughing!

To be truthful, I was wondering if you meant why did God create Mankind -- or rather why did God make people with penises.

[Surely there must have been some mistake! Yes, I think so, too, Rosada! A lot of mistakes were made. For example, the human neck is very poorly designed to hold up such a large head. And unfortunately our much cherished bodies wear out after only about 80 years or so. ]

12.6 > 45 :: because God wanted company, I guess ...

Its strange that Buddhists have no god, Indians and Chinese have so many, christians have one.

Religion is not only the opium of the people but a huge money maker as well, people's beliefs give religions fantastic wealth and power. Just look at the "church" to see the wealth that they have squirreled away in the name of god. Go to south east asia and see the wealth that the Buddhist monks have gained over the years, many monks have earned fortunes since entering the temple.

Religion controls the people by fear, fear of going to hell, fear of karma.

The god of the christians was just one of many, from El to Yahweh, and hence on to a single entity. The Israelites were ordered by their priests to worship one god only, Yahweh, so Baal and his friends got the boot, and then the 'church" picked up on the theme and went with the one god idea, as I suppose too many spoilt their meal.

But this local Arab god of the Sinai desert has certainly transformed itself since its early beginnings out in the desert, now millions of people believe in a thing that doesn't exist, certainly not in our portion of space.

And manifestations? What manifestations? Early man could not explain the unexplainable due to "his" limited knowledge, therefore "he" assumed that there was an outside force controlling his life and actions, and as time progressed the whole concept became so much more intricate. Then "certain" people in every tribe saw the unknown as a great way to control the people, and so the practice continues today.

But now the fear is subsiding as many people are waking up to the fact that there is no "god" as proclaimed by the christians. Those people who believe in god, laugh at the Chinese and Indians with their thousands of gods but the joke is on them as in the beginning the Israelites also worshiped many gods.

In discussing the ways in which religion has been utilised by people over millenia it seems important to remember that people, in keeping with their free will, will do as they want, they can represent the idea of God in wonderful or awful ways -- but they aren't God. God is God.

Within the Adamic cycle there have been nine distinct prophets of God with instructions for their time and place in the world. What people chose to do with those instructions is another thing entirely.

We are born into this mortal world, indulge in the emotions and desires which cause many anxieties. These anxieties will bring endless sufferings. Our heart and body will be contaminated. All beings will suffer in miseries. The time may has arrives, the entire world will face massive destructions which cannot be redeemed by humans. People are so lost that they forget about returning Home. Many people have lost their souls. All beings must rescue the world and return to God, the Heaven of Truth and not linger in the mortal world. All disasters may be brought about by emotions and desires. We may pervade our practice from the beginning to te end to return to the Heaven of Truth.

i agree with you about church and religions which were meant to be a way to reach God or a better self, but they became a form of control... but there is definitely something out there, beyond our reach and understanding, which you can generally call God.

now to answer the post question: there is no reason, we just want a reason because we like to believe we are special. god created man with a reason so man is special. but there is no reason, just an act. if you look globally no species nor the mother Earth benefits from our presence here. maybe that is why we need so much compassion for ourselves and others.

The Divine WOW

Who said this?: "Religions are just guilt with different holidays."

I make a big distinction between the organized religions on the one hand, and spirituality on the other hand. Spirituality is all about having formed a direct connection with the divine.

Since the IC works, then this must be a lawful universe. If we were living in a universe governed by the laws of chaos, the IC wouldn't work, not even once. In my opinion, the fact that the IC works -- and other forms of synchronicity also work -- is one of the greatest proofs in our time of the existence of what one popular astrologer and writer likes to call "the Divine WOW."

I have nothing to say about religions but that is a perfectly delightful answer, I must say. 'Because heaven and earth were not uniting, but now they are.'
