You will probably not like what am I about to say and I hope I am wrong, but from your reading, it doesn't look like things are going to work out.
The 5th line is one I've had before. It is not a "nice" line. The good fortune here is of the sort that is only clear in hindsight. I had it once about a guy and it foresaw the moment when I'd realised it was a dead end and had to let him go. It felt awful at the time but it was also a release. In hindsight, there were many reasons why this guy was not right for me, so it was indeed good fortune. It just felt like the opposite at the time.
The 6th line I've had when I had to change direction on something. The "leader" in this case (I am using the Wilhelm translation) was my wrong attitude / hopes / aspirations and it was saying I need to get rid of that but that some aspects could still be saved. Maybe a friendship where I'd once thought there'd be a relationship. 49 is revolution - an overhaul. To me, that implies that there will be some upheaval coming your way in regards to this issue. You will change your attitude somehow.
If I am right, well, remember the 5th line says "good fortune". Even if it will feel bad, know that there are better things coming your way.
Hi Val75,
To me this is not a yes or no answer. The reading seems to be giving you advice in how to proceed. To me 49 radical change could be the background, are you currently going through a radical change? Hexagram 30 Clarity to me says find or ask for clarity of where the relationship is headed. In the lines show genuine feelings. Auspicious reading, it could go either way. Maybe try asking a more open ended question. I love the sticky on relationship questions on here. When I really follow it, helps give me so much clarity.
I chuckled when I saw Yi's answer to such an ambiguous question. It wasn't the yes/no so much as the idea of ownership of another person, that sparked amusement. You probably intended it more romantically than actually owning, but there's often truth in taking things literally.
Will he be mine?
You catch him in a net of drama, give titles and stigmas, wield a happy sword when you win him.
I personally think there's more than a hint of sarcasm in Yi's answer, which made me chuckle when I read it.
Oh, the 49 of it, I think it literally meant to revolutionize the way you think of owning and relationships, possessiveness, etc. 30 also implies dependence, and in this case, the possibility of becoming codependent.
