I had a job interview for a part time job and wonder if I will be hired 26 unchanging
From Wilhelm
THE IMAGE

Heaven within the mountain:
The image of THE TAMING POWER OF THE GREAT.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.

Heaven within the mountain points to hidden treasures. In the words and
deeds of the past there lies hidden a treasure that men may use to strengthen
and elevate their own characters. The way to study the past is not to confine
oneself to mere knowledge of history but, through application of this
knowledge, to give actuality to the past.

The deeds of the past could be my resume.
Seems positive to me.

there lies hidden a treasure

once you manage to surface those hidden treasures, you got the power of the great. i think that's the meaning of this hex.

to answer your question, you still have some hard work to do

I can certainly understand how you could see 26 as representing your resume and if you feel you do have the sort of job history this company is looking for receiving this hexagram could be reasonably interpreted as a "yes." However, an equally compelling argument could be made for this hexagram being a "no" or even a "maybe". "No" if 26 means you have all the right book learning but not the right on the ground experience. "Maybe" if getting a hexagram with no change lines means not enough has happened to create any change, so perhaps they feel they must gather more information, more interviews? Anyway, this is why I shy away from yes or no questions. However, since your gut level response was to see 26 as a "yes" I think you can be optimistic.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get the job.
Gato does More hard work to do could mean I have to keep looking for work? or that they are doing more interviews and/or checking my references?

Rosada- I do think my job history coincided with their needs. The person doing the hiring knows my previous employers personally , and are good friends with one so he was going to call them.
They were doing more interviews. My experience is more in line with their needs than my book learning is.

What question do you ask about a job?

Well for starters how about asking something really broad? Like:

What is the job, role, I came to Earth to perform at this time?

This suggests that you should indeed get the job, because "not eating at home" indicates working away from the home.

While the "many deeds of the past" would indicate your resume, and therefore the employers contacting previous employers.

not enough has happened to create any change,

that is true.... i think you should give more thought/action to this and then re-inquire the oracle.

Say, I just thought I ought to add for clarification the reason I suggested asking , "What is the job I came to earth to preform?" I think if a person gets an insight into their over-arching role then the current situation may make sense. Thus if a person worrying that they couldn't seem to hold down a job got 56. The Wanderer, they might recognize their pattern of losing jobs may not necessarily be a sign of failure but simply a sign they were not made to settled down. Or if the I Ching tells you you're a born teacher with 29, then no wonder you're always finding yourself in situations where you seem to be the only one who knows what to do. Knowing what your "true work" is can be a big help in recognizing your role in a situation - and then hopefully you can look for work that is a better fit for your vibration. Thus someone told his true work is to 56. Keep Moving could consciously seek out a job involving travel, or someone who's fate is to end up required to 29. Carry on the Business of Teaching would know in advance to look for work where his guidance is intentionally sought.

Rosada,
I am glad you clarified, I thought that sounded like a far reaching question.

what is the job I came to earth to perform 8.2-29

Talks about keeping dignity, doing something from the heart. Maybe don't go work just for money do something for nobler reasons?

It has to do with loyalty, and not abandoning the people you are closest to, no matter how sorely these key relationships are tested.

We all need other people in order to survive, and being able to cooperate well with people in our own circle is the general idea here, as opposed to needing to go far afield to find our proper group.

I still haven't heard from these people about that job, they said they would contact everyone yes or no but I don't really expect them to if the answer is negative. they said they were deciding in a day or two but I know it takes time to get in touch with some of my references because they are not always in their offices.

I don't think I got this job.
I asked will he hire me 28.6-44 that sure doesn't look like it
misfortune but without fault
did they make their decision? 25.3-13 someone walks off with my cow through my carelessness (I did bad mouth, only mildly one of the places I worked (they deserved it but better not do that again)
Should I take x job off my resume 40.4-7 Release the big toe (it was at the top of my resume, the beginning)
I think that could be the 26 work I had to do on my resume in addition to putting in more work looking for a job
I posted this because I wasn't that emotionally involved in getting this job (it was only part time) so I wanted to see what I could learn from this. One thing about "not eating at home" which I did think could indicate getting the job was that the hours were 12-4pm so I would have eaten before I got there and probably at home so I actually thought that didn't indicate the job but maybe could indicate to look for a full time job.
Additionally putting in more work in the situation is probably about the question Rosada said I should ask and the results of that. I think I need a job that I really want and people I really feel I belong with and not for just a paycheck as I was doing here. (Although they were nice, nothing against them.)

I think the 28.6 in response to your questions indicates that he is drowning in resumes. He has been flooded with responses to this part-time position.

I don't think you'll get the job, because when H26 is static, something remains unrealized.

But we can still learn tremendously from a H26 unchanging situation, as you were demonstrating in your last post.

Yes, he told me he got 40 responses in no time and they interviewed 10 people! so a lot to chose from for them.

Thinking about how 8.2 could relate to the job you came here to do.

8.2
Hold to him inwardly.
Perseverance brings good fortune.

Sounds like the I Ching is saying you are someone who trusts other people and will be extremely loyal to those whom you trust. Therefore you need a job where this trait will serve you, not leave you hanging.

You mention the folks at this job told you they would call one way or another. Perhaps this will turn out to be an important sign. If they don't call you at all, you could interpret this that this job would not have been a good fit for you anyway - that their tendency to make idle promises would have taken advantage of your trusting nature.

Changing to
29. The Abysmal
If you are sincere you have success in your heart,
And whatever you do succeeds.

Interesting that you note this not a job you are sure you really want.
Hexagram 29. suggests this is a lifetime in which the right work for you has particularly got to be more than just a pay check - you wont mind if it's a challenge but it's got to be something you believe in.

Maybe you should ask the I Ching, "How would it be for me to be working for these people?" As you have a stronger, clearer inner vision of yourself there (providing it's a fortunate hexagram!), perhaps they too will get this image when they consider you.

Well Gato you give me alot to think about

Rosada, Yes I am trusting and loyal to a fault but now this reading makes me think that it's not that I should change that about myself but that I should find people worthy of that trust and loyalty and not just hand it out to all takers. one of my problems with work is I want it to be meaningful , I don't mean I have to save the world but I do resonate with what Ginnie says about people in my group and wanting to work for them.Mainly I want to be in comfortable surroundings emotionally. I do have an friend/acquaintance that needs office help whom I feel comfortable with but he hasn't decided to hire yet. I asked if working for his business would be the work I was put here to perform and got
42.2-61 "Ten pairs of tortoises shells can't oppose it", so they say anyway.
Will it even be possible to get that job (with my friend)?
39.2-48 "the servant of the king" I have gotten that line in the past when I had to do something for another person.
What should I do to get a job?
10.4-61 Sam Reifler says "you go about it in fits and starts but you accomplish it in the end" (paraphrase) and this line I always find very fortunate. I have mentioned to my friend to hire me or to hire anyone to help him out but he doesn't seem ready yet.

what would it be lilke to work for the original person (the part time one) 5.1.6.-57
sam Reifler line 1 "No mistakes if you are patient" and with this line I usually find the things I was worrying about do not materialize.
Usually the 6th line gets pretty literal for me and I meet someone unexpected in the situation i am asking about but since it's hypothetical situation I don't know. and sometimes it is 3 people.

Someone enriches you. Doesn't that settle the question of the job, then? This job is guaranteed.

Will it even be possible to get that job (with my friend)?
39.2-48

Doesn't this hexagram signify that your difficulties would be of your own making? That is, you need to change your mind or get clearer about something. Or maybe you need more information. Since you received H42, your getting that job would benefit everybody.

what would it be like to work for the original person (the part time one) 5.1.6.-57

I think the I ching is suggesting that you wait for your friend to be ready to hire you. In the meanwhile, people will email you. The 'uninvited guests' usually arrive in my email inbox! :)

thank you Ginnie. I never thought about the email for uninvited guests.
I have been checking my email for the response from the original place I interviewed for as this was the way they made contact in the first place. Just to be clear 5.1.6 was for the original post not the job I would like to have.
I asked again if the original job would hire me and got 8.3 Wilhelm says, you can break off in a gentle way from these people because if you formed an alliance with them you would not be available when your true friends come.

I think it would be mutually beneficial if my friend hired me. but really the ball is not in my court except as a wish.

All you have to do is wait. The ball doesn't have to be in your court, because you already have the job you really want.

You see, the I Ching knows what is shortly going to happen. Since you were given line 42.2, there is nothing that can change that outcome, Susan. Your friend intends to hire you. You can trust this.

ok, sounds great!
Meanwhile the other people have not made contact to tell me anything either way as they said they would, but I do not really expect that from an interview that doesn't hire you.

If you do hear from the job you don't want, you'll need to be firm and turn them down.

When we get H8.3, yi is telling us that those are not good people to work or rely upon right now. 8.3 does not indicate a good alliance at all. That is really a very strong statement Yi has made about the unsuitability of those people.

Ok Ginnie, but I do not think they will call anyway. But that is reassuring that things we think are bad (not getting the job) sometimes serve a higher purpose in that it keeps us from entering into wrong relationships.
Maybe my struggle with finding employment has to do with finding the work I came here to do.
I must put my efforts into attaining that goal as gato keeps trying to get me to see the treasure is within.
