The ROOTS of the category of Wind in the universal IC are in a generic sense of contractive binding, to share time with
another/others 'within'. The overall focus is on use of a sense of cultivating, becoming influencial - and so a focus on time with others. Emotionally there is a link to anticipation (of wrong doing) that is also converted to anticipation of right doing , and so of cultivating.

46 - entangling (unconditional 'pushing upwards')
18 - correcting (conditional entanglement, focus on corruption etc)

48 - founding, foundation-setting (unconditional)
57 - cultivating (conditional founding)

32 - commiting (unconditional)
50 - transforming (conditional commit - 'cook' first)

28 - exceeding (unconditional)
44 - persuading, seducing (conditional 'excess')

ALL of these can be interpreted negatively or positively - e.g. 18 is often interpreted as negative, but the case being more on a focus on correcting neglect and criminal corruptions to ensure the continuity of what is cultivated. The trigram focus is "with cultivation comes discernment" - getting more 'involved' not only allows for personal cultivation in a social context, but also for the development of nepotism and cronyism. There is a focus here on continuous communications to avoid misunderstandings and/or the emergence of issues of neglect - IOW the need for continuous 'corrections' as parties move along. 46 is unconditional in its focus and so does not cover these correction issues as does 18. From a personal, family-level relationship perspective, development required continuous feedback and so mediation (18 has its skeletal form described by analogy with hexagram 11 - a focus on mediation to maintain harmony/balance)

In the above pairs of the wind octet, the first hexagram is unconditional in its manner, the second is conditional. Thus, since this octet reflects in a microcosm the macrocosm so the 'opposites' dynamics of the macro apply. Thus we have pairs of hexagrams reflecting the unconditional/conditional expressions of the five lines each hexagram shares with the other:

46, 18
48, 57
32, 50
28, 44

As well as the mapping of POTENTIALS/ACTUALS, or more so the seeming 'balanced' as compared to their exaggerated format:

46 - 44 (basic entanglement vs competitive form)
18 - 28 (basic excess vs exaggerated form (going the extra distance))
48 - 50 (basic foundation setting vs exaggerted (cook it as well))
57 - 32 (basic cultivation vs exaggerated form (commitment etc))

All have a sense of dealing with issues of cultivating, becoming influencial etc as a 'fundamental' element.

The skeletal forms (27-ness) of all of these hexagrams are found in the octet of heaven.

The PAIRS themselves form into quartets of meaning ((46,18),(48,57) Vs (32,50),(28,44)) and so on. (e.g. more pairs such as 32,50 vs 28,44 - meaning in meaning in meaning - all due to the method of derivation)

EACH can be XOR-ed with any other to bring out its expressiveness THROUGH that other, all made by analogy to some other hexagram. All of thes methods bring out finer details of structure due simply to the method used to create these structures - recursion of yin/yang that ensures all is linked together - as such there is no need for analogies outside of the 'box' since all analogies can be made within the box - if you know what is going on ;-) (and there is LOTS more going on here in that EACH pair can form into a sequence of 64 that serve as analogies/metaphors for describing a 'logic of relationships'
etc etc)

i think youre descriptions of trigram and hexagram traits are really palateable for people in this day and technology. the binary code-ness of it/really breaking it down into essentials.
