. . . white is associated with death and is used predominantly in funerals in Chinese culture. Ancient Chinese people wore white clothes and hats only when they mourned for the dead.

White is the color of death in Chinese culture. The top line is the line of spirit, and white is appropriate there.
An individual is in a situation in which doubts arise as to which is better-to
pursue the grace of external brilliance, or to return to simplicity. The doubt
itself implies the answer. Confirmation comes from the outside; it comes like
a white winged horse. The white color indicates simplicity. At first it may be
disappointing to renounce the comforts that might have been obtained, yet
one finds peace of mind in a true relationship with the friend who courts
him. The winged horse is the symbol of the thoughts that transcend all limits
of space and time.
Has whilhelm made a mistake here or white meant also something else to Chinese?
I don't know if Wilhelm is mistaken. This is about the fourth line, but Ginnie's is the sixth. Different line, different meaning. Wilhelm appears to be projecting Western ideas onto the Chinese. His "The winged horse is the symbol of the thoughts that transcend all limits of space and time" (p.93) looks suspiciously like Pegasus.

usually I see 22.6 as 'what you see is what you get' kind of thing, where appearances fall away and the simple things show their value through and through . .
When I posed the question whether my thoughts and prayers had any effect I got 22.6 . . I don't know if this makes me deluded, but a part of me wants to believe that they did help him somehow . .

Hi, Ginnie:Thank you Charly!
Do you like Benedetti?
Hi, Ginnie:...
Yes, that is the way it is in this life. A little recognition, a tiny bit of acclaim -- and the next minute brings a return to solitude and being alone with one's own thoughts...
Less is more, unless it's the hair on your head or the size of your shoes, as the legend goes.
