Hello Fellow Clarity Members:)! I am hoping you can help out a friend of mine with some career concerns. I've looked at their readings, and have a general feel for what they are saying, but am looking for new insights and maybe some more detail. Also, this is very important, and being a newbie, definitely could use help on this one:confused:. Interestingly, for 2 of the related questions, we got the fan yao:confused:! Does that mean anything to anyone?

Here's the story...

X almost left the company they are with now in the past, but ended up staying part time, only to return full time. Now thay are in a higher position, as the store manager, but I think they are burnt out on it all.

So I asked

"What does X need to see about their current career and got 48.1>5?"...

I get the impression they feel like things are stagnating for them in their career. I've read this line is related to a drought, I think by Bradford. This sounds like where they are right now, or at least how they seem to feel about it. Maybe there is nothing left for them to gain where they are right now... but suggests to me they should stay with the company they are with.

I also asked, "What does X need to see about their career at X company?" And got 5.1>48!

How funny is that? That is the fan yao, right. Does that mean anything special here? The questions are awfully similar, so is that like getting the same reading twice in a row? :brickwall:I'm reading this as they should wait, it sounds like something good may come their way, but right now is a very dangerous time to move:confused:. Just stay where you are! But, what comes after the waiting. Does this mean they should definitely stay in their current position and at their current company:confused:? I would say yes...

Wondering if maybe better opportunities lie for them elsewhere, either within the company they are with, or with another, I asked

"How should X proceed with their career at X company?" And, got 19 unchanging.

I read this as wait, there may be some good opportunities coming your way. Make sure you take advantage of them. But, don't wait too long:confused:...

I know this is like 3 readings! But, help on any of these would be greatly appreciated by both of us:bows:. I'd just like to hear some thoughts on this:)... Thanks in advance everyone:bows:

48.1 > 5

Although X has worked up to store manager, the position is like being at the bottom of a well -- that is, no clear way higher. "One does not drink the mud of the well" suggests that X not stay at this level and "No animals come to an old well" that passions are not engaged by this exhausting work. Hexagram 5 suggests relocation. Couldn't X advance to a higher management level in the company?

Thanks, Pocossin:bows:... It could mean move up in the company... that is very possible. Your interpretation sums up their position nicely. Although the move to manager was technically and upward move, it is still same old same old really, and is hard to break into corporate level positions or regional management. I think they do have the potential to advance though. Any chance this is suggesting to check out what opportunities are available at other companies Relocation might mean that, right?

From Wen's Sequence, I see hexagram 5 as troops being posted to a border region. As long as there is no enemy attack (which happens in hexagram 6), garrison duty is light. This suggests to me that X could move to a new store within the same company where competition is not yet established. Doesn't this corporation open new stores? And wouldn't movement to such a store be an advance?

That's a good idea! Yes, in this case, a lateral move would be an advance. The store they are working at doesn't really givé them an opportunity to shine.

Thanks Pocossin:bows:
