Hello dear friends :)

Almost a year ago I cast 43.3 > 58 on how to improve my physical shape (here's the relative thread http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/friends/showthread.php?t=11106). I had been following a workout routine for a few months and was starting feeling physically and psychologically exhausted by it. However, not being really able to fully grasp the message in that reading, and not having time to find alternatives, I have basically kept the same exercising program up, only reducing its duration / frequency.
I'm still not satisfied, and wish I could find something more effective in terms of results and pleasurable as a pastime. Today I decided to ask the same question again, and got 25.2,3,6 > 43. Interestingly enough, Breakthrough recurs... I have looked up several translations and searched the forum, without however finding clues on how to interpret this.

Any insight will be much appreciated :bows:

Intuitions...

I have been looking for insight about the reading on different sources, and was struck by a couple of things I found on this site. In the 'Learn' section, Hilary explains hex 25, Wu Wang or Not Entangled, as not without fruit, since the character (Wang) shows a barren woman. Could this casting be referring to fertility? It would be confirmed by hex 43 being the image of the male organ, as reported in another thread.

As usual I took the reply as related to my intended question (physical shape as in the result of workout), but the Yi could once again be answering the question at a different level - physical shape as in healthy conditions, or even better natural conditions, another reference of hex 25. Maybe this is saying that giving birth would improve my overall shape... and that I should resolutely do something about it. Is my intuition completely off track?

From a totally different angle, sticking with an interpretation more consistent with the intended question, hex 25 suggests not getting caught up in trying to fix things, being liberated from the desire to control... and hex 43 refers to eliminating evil. Is this saying I would improve my shape by not pursuing it as a goal in itself, and maybe even by giving up on my workout routine? :brickwall:

I'm a bit lost. And the three different changing lines are definitely not helping!

How to improve my physical shape?
25.2,3,6 > 43

"Improve physical shape" is a euphemism for "lose weight," I suppose. A major obsession of the Western world. Look at the hexagram. Think of the lower trigram as your feet. Think of the upper trigram as the scales. Put your scales in the kitchen and put your feet on the scales daily in the morning before dressing. I've a touch of CHF and Doctor Xi (the world's cutest cardiologist) so ordered me. A danger of retained fluids for me, but if you don't weigh in a uniform manner you won't know what's happening to your body.

Six in the second place means:
If one does not count on the harvest while plowing,
Nor on the use of the ground while clearing it,
It furthers one to undertake something.

Don't have unreasonable hopes, and change methods that don't work.

Six in the third place means:
Undeserved misfortune.
The cow that was tethered by someone
Is the wanderer's gain, the citizen's loss.

Some things you don't want to lose -- like your health -- in the pursuit of weight loss.

Nine in the fifth place means:
Use no medicine in an illness
Incurred through no fault of your own.
It will pass of itself.

No diet pills.

Really, don't worry about losing weight. Worry about stop gaining it. If you stop gaining, you may eventually begin losing. Forget about exercise to lose weight. Exercise just makes you hungry and you eat more. I jog daily, but that's not to lose weight. I do it so I can go six minutes on the next stress test. I prefer exercises that are done indoors and timed by the microwave. The sound of a microwave is a Pavlovian signal for me to start exercising. You gained weight over years or decades. Plan to lose it over years or decades. Make substitutions in your diet until you find something that works.

Thanks for the insight and the advise, Tom. In my case "improving physical shape" is no euphesism for losing weight. My weight is just fine for my build. I would happily keep it as it is, possibly enhancing the lean / fat body mass ratio. What I am really after, and what my question was aiming at, is litterally bettering my physical condition, making my body stronger and more beautiful.
I am not willing to give up working out - I love the mood boost (thanks, endorphin!) and the self-discipline. I would just like to find a more a) enjoyable and b) effective routine / sport.
With this in mind, I can't figure out what the reading means... any suggestion, anyone? :)

Update

I have reasons to believe the Yi has replied my query by announcing a specific change relating to my general physical conditions - The Unexpected Breakthrough, how brilliant would that be? ;) I'll keep you posted.

If this is the case I would also reconsider the importance of the general message provided by the combination of primary + relating hex as opposed to the specific changing lines, in cases like this where there are three (or more) and they appear to contradict themselves or are not clearly connected to the matter in question. I know there are no black and white rules, and it's continuous learning by doing... this would just add another small brick to my understanding.

i think 25 may be referring to getting in shape in lots of
innocent ways - join a triathlon group for example and
take up anything like minded people at your gym invite
you to do
maybe Yi is saying do it for the fun of it with no thought
of gain - body beautiful maybe narcissistic reason. truth
is exercise is soo beneficial and such a privilege and gift
to be mobile. enjoy it and maybe you may start getting
some very adniring comments about your bod!!!! hee hee

Thanks Hopex. Yes, hex 25 clearly invites not to place expectations and to embrace something innocently and gratuitously. In all candor, my willingness to improve my shape is completely self-inducted. I'm not after compliments, which usually embarass me - I would just like to feel more self confident, more at ease in my skin, you know what I mean... and I want to make the most out of the time I devote to exercising also in terms of enjoyment. Still, no idea on how to do this! I'll go with the flow I guess :)
As mentioned in my last post I believe the Yi has also sent another message here... and if this is the case I should know in the near future.

Maybe you reach the plateau and would like to change to a new program temporary and go back to your existing program. There is a workout program for 12 weeks in this site:
www.sixpacknow.com/mmresistex.html. Click the program, follow by muscle plan and you will see the workout plan. Hope this helps. :)

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd update this thread with the latest development. But first, a recap of the little saga.

I have reasons to believe the Yi has replied my query by announcing a specific change relating to my general physical conditions - The Unexpected Breakthrough, how brilliant would that be? ;) I'll keep you posted.

A few days after this reading, I cast a totally unrelated one about a negative change in my health conditions, and got 51 unchanging. I had a feeling that this could as well be interpreted as a sign of the upcoming breakthrough (despite the short term deterioration).

So the days go by, and nothing happens. I decide to ask the Yi a straight forward question about the change I sense is coming. The answer is 31.2,3,4,5 moving onto 7. Influence, stimulation, to the Army. The four changing lines completely puzzle me, and I don't know what conclusion to draw. After a week, I ask again, and am delighted to get for the first time in my consulting life an unchanging 4  How appropriate!

Well, the breakthrough I had caught a glimpse of indeed has occurred :) It may well have been a good intuition based on objective symptoms, or even a self fulfilling prophecy... However, retrospectively, the 31 reading too was insightful and confirmed what was coming.
