Also please note my stipulation, so as not to split hairs with semantics: "as enlightenment is most commonly used".

Hi Val,

Experiencing things fully is indeed what I meant. I was thinking especially of problematic things.
When we experience them fully, digest them, we can move on. There is a kind of natural transcendence. We don't try to transcend but it happens.
Perhaps this was also Bruce's meaning? I'm not sure.

Correcto mundo, Ithaki. To digest, kick it up a notch. So maybe like 27/46?

Now rehearsal calls.

Love, light and rock n roll.

Hi Bruce...

I don't have a problem with the concept of transcendence. There are some practical uses for the word. I have a problem with it being used in the context in which it was used here... for myself... in connection with the 'self'... either spiritually or psychologically.

But then again I wasn't raised Catholic. I wasn't raised any kind of Christian and transcendence is particularly stressed in the Catholic religion. I know from your posts that there was a very strong Catholic influence in your life through at least your childhood. So I can understand how you might hold to the concept of transcendence... spirtually and/or psychologically.

I don't. Just to refresh your memory, I'm the one who rejects the concept of ego in favor of the concept of self (selves). I personally believe it's a waste of time to try to transcend the ego (an object) when one or more of your selves (the subject) is hurting and wants and needs to be heard. For the same reason I reject 'ego', I reject 'transcendence of the ego'. The concept is invalidating. The implication is that if the ego needs to be transcended there must be something wrong with it. None of my selves need to be transcended. They need to be accepted (not corrected), loved and respected... which is all about validating.

I'm the one whose selves are connected to all other selves, whether they're in the flesh or out of the flesh. I'm the one who believes the spiritual realm is down here... connecting everyone and everything... not up there... in 'heaven.' I'm the one who received 23 to 24 when I asked the Yi if there was a spiritual layering (hierarchy). And since the force that speaks through the Yi runs through me... down here, I don't have to go anywhere... do any transcending... when I communicate with them.

So, you see it's simply a matter of beliefs, and our beliefs are largely influenced by our experiences. You and I have grossly divergent experiences, therefore it seems quite natural to me... and quite acceptable... that you and I would hold grossly divergent beliefs. *grin*

Love ya,

Val

Just one more quick memory refresher. I've gotten through two very major obstacles in my life in the past eight years by accepting, loving, validating and listening to two of my selves... the 11-year old self who was raped, and then the 10-year old self who opened up to me right here in this very forum (the 50 to 8 thread) about her fear that marriage meant absence of protection... and my life just keeps getting smoother and more contented since then.

One of my workmates spent last week at Lake Naciemento and, knowing that I want to retire in the San Luis Opisbo/Paso Robles area, brought me back the lastest issue of Home and Land for the area so that I can research the real estate up there. She gave it to me this evening. I feel like it's a sign I'm on the right path... and I feel very contented about it. *grin*

Love,

Val

Someone recently said that those who argue for conspiracies give evidence. Those who are against, just mock. How true those words have proven themselves here. Nobody comes up with evidence. No one has given a word to prove anything I say is wrong. You just laugh. You laugh at your own stupidity. You can't even see how foolish you are. And you write posts on a supposedly spiritual website meant to enlighten people? By some of your own words, you admit, that you don't even know what that means. You don't even belong here, your crap is so stupid.

What unmitigated crap! Candid, Bruce, you are a very stupid man. You write the most stupid drivel on here, and pass it off as an argument. Feeling a bit slapped are you Candid? You need to be. Such stupidity from a man who claims to be intelligent is unbecoming. No evidence, just laughter. Like sheep baaing before they are slaughtered. And your one piece of supposed evidence? A piece of ludicrous crap from some ignoramous that says no one knows what happened to the illuminati. They lasted a couple weeks and died out. You can't see the oxymoron in that statement? A very stupid man indeed. Why don't you show us what you are made of, Bruce. Show us some evidence, instead of just laughter and ridiculous nonsense. What you wrote is like saying a pilot was chasing the planet Venus. But of course, you won't, because you are too stupid to even see how ludicrous your arguments were...

There are a lot of good people here, but some of you are too stupid to even come in out of the rain. So I don't need to be here. I will give my services, my knowledge, my wisdom to someone who values it. Not some ignoramous punk that goes around saying he has studied this in depth, then gives us nothing but ignorace.

Balance the truth...What utter nonsense. Candid, you are unbelievably stupid.

News update: I have a personal email from Gene saying he doesn't intend to return to the forum. Sounds like a good idea, whichever way you look at it.

I think some lurkers have watched this one coming.
Eschatology, milleniumism, conspiracy theories, anthropocentric teleologies in general, especailly those based on numbers based on us accidentally having ten fingers, all seem to be accompanied by a lot more paranoia than enlightenment.
Not, of course, to say that we humans aren't in some deep doodoo of our own making.

Too true, Brad.

How many anthropocentric teleological conspiracists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Just one. They hold the bulb and the world revolves around them.

No, No, Martin. Hold the screw-in part UP into the socket! The lamp shade is rather cute, though.
