Alo all!

I hope you can help me. I’m heading toward a significant birthday in November. I’ve been working on myself diligently for the past 3 years. I am filled with more self love and self awareness than I have been in a long time. I am ready to share my life with someone and remarry. I’ve met a few guys but it’s been disappointing albeit educational to say the least.

I asked honorable Yi “will I get married again?”

I received 61.2 to 42:

I think it might mean that there is a call and I answer or my query is a call and a man answers who wants to also share his life with me. And we have a deep abiding connection. At least I hope so! But I don’t want to just read what I want to see into it. It looks like a promising reading. That there is someone out there for me. I’m not young anymore. So I don’t have all the time in the world. Or maybe I do and I want to spend it with someone who loves me. Im not one to take the lead though. I want the type of guy who knows how to take the initiative.

Anyway, what do any of you see the reading saying? Im trying to not be overly optimistic since there’s no one in sight right now. But oh it would be amazing if it’s as positive as I hope!

Mèsi anpil for your assistance 🙏🏼

Hexagram 61, Inner Truth

61.gif

Key Questions

Where do you place your trust?
What feels true?

Oracle

'Inner truth. Piglets and fishes, good fortune.
Fruitful to cross the great river.
Constancy bears fruit.'

The old Chinese character for 'Inner' probably shows a drum mounted on a pole. It suggests centrality and balance, and also the vibrations that carry through inner space. And the character for 'Truth' shows a bird's claw over a child, suggesting the mother bird protecting her young. It also means confidence, and the sincerity that inspires it – absolute presence and concentration, creating a true connection. The very present truth vibrates through you like a drumbeat; you apprehend it directly as an inner resonance. The lines of the hexagram itself show a space at the centre, open to listen and resound with the intensity of experience.

Piglets and fishes are symbols of wealth, plenty and luck. They are staple foods used in humble offerings to the spirits: to receive piglets and fishes shows that you are in a state of connectedness, and can trust you will be provided for. Success in ongoing ventures (rearing your pigs), and the insight to be in the right place at the right time (placing the fishing nets) are both manifestations of your inner truth. And so it is good to commit yourself: inner truth will naturally move you towards new landscapes, as the inner hollow of a boat would carry you across the water. You stay true to your understanding by carrying it through into action, translating the moment of insight into responsiveness as a constant way of living.

Image

'Above the lake is the wind: Inner Truth.
A noble one deliberates over legal proceedings and delays executions.'

Sequence

Inner Truth follows from Hexagram 60, Measuring:
'Measuring and also trusting it, and so Inner Truth follows.'

Pair

Inner Truth is paired and contrasted with Hexagram 62, Small Exceeding:
'Small Exceeding steps over the line; Inner Truth means trust.'

Changing Lines

Line 2

'Calling crane in the shadows,
Her young respond in harmony.
I have a good wine vessel,
I will share with you, pouring it all out.'

Hexagram 42, Increasing

42.gif

Key Questions

What would you do if you knew you were blessed?
What if there were no limits?
What could change for the better?

Oracle

'Increasing, fruitful to have a direction to go.
Fruitful to cross the great river.'

The old Chinese character for Increasing shows a pot filled to overflowing. It means blessing and superabundance, like the timely rain that brings a rich harvest.

Increase simply flows, without limit; there is no need for restrictive frameworks to contain it, but only for tools to work with it. When you are blessed, it is good to respond with purpose and movement: participating in the increase, pouring more in, you receive more in return. Let yourself imagine where you want to be, and take the first steps that commit you to going there. This is how to keep the momentum.

Image

'Wind and thunder: Increasing.
A noble one sees improvement, and so she changes.
When there is excess, she corrects it.'

Hello Ichinglover;

I'm not sure if 61.2 to 42 indicates marriage or any conventional relationship, but it clearly talks about people with affinity who share joyful moments. And it is blissful (42).:)

Aww that sounds kinda nice. But I want more than just blissful moments or basically one night stands. Which is what that brings to mind for me when I hear “moments.” Sounds fleeting and superficial. Although I don’t find that very joyful. Like no one I can count on? I already did the unconventional thing and it’s not for me at all. Trying not to feel sad & depressed about this. I have so much to offer and maybe I just missed it all and will be alone forever / the rest of my life. Maybe I just made too many mistakes 😔

Oh dear Ichinglover I don't think this line refers to a "one night stand" at all.

There are other lines for that. I can think of 44.6:
"Coupling with your horns/shame/not a mistake"

or maybe 35.6: "Advancing with your horns/ holding fast, use this to subjugate the city/ Danger, good fortune, not a mistake./ Constancy: shame."

Though this is not the only way to interpret those lines, either.

61.2 is the line of inner affinity that may not be visible in the outer world. The heron calls her young in the dark, the latter hears and responds. The two don't see each other but recognize the voices. It is about a special, natural bound like that of the heron and her child. Here one has a good wine, a metaphor for joy, she (he) wants to share with the other out of love not for receiving something in return.

Then why didn't I know if it led to marriage or something conventional? Because not the line nor the hexagrams talk about the outer form or special roles like that of 37 (family). It doesn't mean that the relationship can't lead to marriage. I just don't know. And unconventional doesn't equate to casual which is a new norm or convention itself.

Thank you so much for explaining further. I appreciate it. I understand what you’re seeing better now. It’s not as much as I’d hoped but not as bad either. I wonder if there is something in me that still needs to be healed or changed for me to marry again. Maybe I should try to formulate a question that addresses that to see if it’s an issue. I get so nervous asking questions. I want to get it right. Any suggestions? Mèsi anpil for your thoughts. I appreciate it! 🙌🏼

Well you can ask questions about what you can do; for example "what should I do to get married again".

I took your suggestion and asked Yi “what should I do to get married again” and received 40.2.4.5 to 8:

Hexagram 40, Release

40.gif

Key Questions

If nothing could bind you, where would you go?
Do you 'have to'? Who says?
Which path leads to where you want to be?

Oracle

'Release. Fruitful in the southwest.
With no place to go,
To turn round and come back is good fortune.
With a direction to go,
Daybreak, good fortune.'

To 'release' is to liberate, to solve problems, to untie knots. The first step towards release is a move 'southwest': no longer battling on to pursue the mission, but going back to your roots and reconnecting with home and allies. When you know where you're coming from, it becomes a lot easier to be clear about where you're going.

If your path has no real destination, turn back; if it has purpose, start your journey as early as you can. If you have no good reason to continue on as before, come back to your starting point and let that cycle reach its end; if you have a goal in mind, why not start exploring ways to attain it right away?

Image
'Thunder and rain do their work: Release.
A noble one pardons transgressions and forgives crimes.'

Line 2

'In the field, taking three foxes.
Gaining a golden arrow.
Constancy, good fortune.'

Line 4

'Releasing the thumbs also.
Partners arrive, hence truth and confidence.'

Line 5

'A noble one, bound, is released.
Good fortune.
There is truth towards small people.'

Hexagram 8, Seeking Union

8.gif

Key Questions

Where do you belong?
Is this a good fit?
Do you choose to join?

Oracle

'Seeking union, good fortune.
At the origin of oracle consultation,
From the source, ever-flowing constancy.
No mistake.
Not at rest, coming on all sides.
For the latecomer, pitfall.'

At the beginning of this year I put forth the intention to be engaged by my birthday in November. Well that hasn’t happened. So I want to correct any faults in myself ir mistakes that I made that prevented that from happening. The changing lines seem positive but I’m not exactly sure what they are trying to tell me to do. I can’t spend anymore time just waiting around. If you have any ideas of what this might mean I’m very open to hearing them. Thank you! @marybluesky 🙌🏼

(PS - if @hilary or @rosada have any suggestions I’d love to hear it! 😍)

Hello ICL... at-mentions (such as "@Liselle") don't work in Shared Readings, only in Change Circle. It's a benefit for Change Circle members.

If you'd like Hilary's help with your reading, do you know about her I Ching Chats?

H40.2.4.5 <>H8 Release Seeking Union!!

H40 is the hexagram of freeing yourself, of setting yourself free. The nuclear hexagram is H63 which is about balance. So together this gives: Finding your balance requires letting go of things.*

The 3 moving lines are all about letting go or freeing yourself.
H40.2 Foxes are considered cunning and tricky. Here it refers to inner qualities that get in the way of growth.
Trigram Water turns into Earth. When you can get rid of these traits, inner growth is possible. Water with a moving line is also about fears and insecurities.

The upper trigram Thunder changes to Water.
Thunder off balance is forceful and wants quick and complete change without considering whether this change is beneficial. It ignores all the consequences that actions will have. Water is about letting go, go with the flow, making the journey more important than the goal.

H40.4 The text talks about letting go of your thumb or big toe, here you are asked to let go of things which have a limiting influence but where you have become dependent on.
H40.5 Here you are asked to deliver yourself. To free yourself from bad habits, circumstances and people that stand in the way of your development.

The moving lines together form the trigram Lake that changes into Mountain. This shows that there is not a clear picture of the current situation, not being in the here and now. Mountain asks you to put yourself out there, it is the "I" as in "Hello world here I am, deal with it", it is strong and confident .

and asked Yi “what should I do to get married again”
As I see it, the answer can be interpreted in 2 ways:
1) Let go of the idea of getting married again (which does not mean you will never get married again, but don't make it a goal)
2) There are things that need too be released before you are ready to marry again

*Addition: The nuclear hexagram H63 could be thought of as a kind of marriage. The lower trigram Fire is yin/female and the upper trigram Water is yang/male. Both trigrams move towards each other and all the lines in both trigrams have a relationship with each other. So you could also interpret the combination H40 and core hexagram H63 as: for a balanced marriage, things have to be let go first.

This would be my interpretation, I hope it helps you.
As always, take what resonates and leave the rest 😉

Edit: I added to the answer

40 is releasing and 8 is the context of your query- the union.

40.2: in my experience this is a good line that indicates you'll find more than one way to get what you need, don't worry;

40.4: letting go of something in order to reach something better. I'd say relax a bit and don't be so obsessed about marriage right now

40. 5: trusting small people. Maybe the ones you don't consider marriage material? Small can be young- younger guys for example?
