Help with mirrors?

I recently asked about earning a living because it's something I've struggled to figure out how to do in a way that doesn't drive me crazy. Whenever I have a regular job, the grind just makes me miserable and I quit. I've had jobs that are mentally taxing, jobs that are easy, jobs with good people, jobs with not so good people, jobs with long hours, jobs with short hours, and I still haven't found anything I can bear to stick with. Another thing is that I don't feel as if I am doing something that uses my best skills, and I must have a right livelihood in the Buddhist sense, though maybe I am just putting too much pressure on myself. Still, I've never struggled with money over the years. When I went to university, they paid for my schooling and living expenses, for example, and I always seem to come across a windfall or save enough when I am working to feel comfortable. Now I am about to inherit a large amount of money from my grandparents' estate that would cover my living expenses for five years or be more than enough for a down payment on a house. To qualify for a mortgage I need to have a salaried position however. Do I want that? Maybe if it were the right thing that doesn't drive me crazy!

Q0: What is my work?
A: 15 unchanging

I read this as inner work, to remain authentic to myself and my values.

Q1: What is my livelihood? How can I earn money?
A: 13.2 > 1

I am really not sure how to interpret this.

Q2: What will happen if I look for a regular job?
A: 7.2 >2

Clearly these are mirrors, but I'm not really sure how they relate to each other or my questions. Are there different questions I should ask? Any ideas around these readings are most welcome.

Q0: What is my work?
A: 15 unchanging
15 talks to your authentic self. It offers you best advice to work towards becoming more discerning in order to redress the imbalances in your world. Your deeper work lies within the realms of Hex 40 where you are invited to pardon mistakes and to bring more compassion into your being.
Q1: What is my livelihood? How can I earn money?
A: 13.2 > 1
13<1 invites you to step into a livelihood where, from a place of enduring creativity, you are better able to develop your skills of discrimination and to discover the true nature of things. Here though your struggle remains within and finding the start of the thread to follow. 13.2 is at the centre of an inner rebalance that will help you come to an understanding, especially if you just stay with the distress you are feeling when working with others.
Q2: What will happen if I look for a regular job?
A: 7.2 >2
7<>2 has you standing in a field of your own flexibility where you are now finding ways to organise your life. 7 carries a meaning of grief and advises that you work in ways (internal and external) for the common good. You will be faced, though, in taking a regular job with events that will make you feel trapped or restricted that will need overcoming. Perhaps, see them as opportunities for growth.
Again a 2nd line focused on inner reorganisation and how you walk in the world but generally a line of grace and fortune.

...or these readings might mean nothing like that for you.

Good Luck

15uc - I see what you mean, and it could be, but I also wonder if what you describe isn't more 61 than 15? Not sure.

You also seem to be discussing a difference between 15 and 50, which are Shadows of each other. (See the explanations thread.) Hilary in WikiWing describes 15 as small work and 50 as bigger, grander work. Yi has told you 15. This is probably not welcome news. But...
  • Would it help at all if you could work from home, since jobs like that are allegedly more plentiful than they used to be? (This isn't from the reading, per se.)
  • Would it help if you saw a job as a way to leverage your grandparents' money, put it to bigger use than just living off of it for a relatively short time? That might be a way to turn 15 into 50, which is also a Shadow-Ideal concept. 15's Ideal is 42, Blessing, Increase, pouring into, making improvements. Your inheritance is a blessing, and you could increase it by buying a house, which would improve your life presumably.
  • It's hard to work at a 50-ish sort of job when you don't know what that is. I can see how it's a dismal existence to feel you want something more, but have no idea what.
  • On a purely nerve-wracking level, just because you've been lucky with money so far isn't a guarantee you'll go on being...

13.2 to 1 - this might be a lecture about over-idealizing jobs instead of a description of one. But it's always a good idea to at least try to look for direct advice.

13.2's about staying inside your temple rather than trying to fit in with strangers. So...is there any kind of work you idealize? Anything you feel nostalgia for? A family business you could work in, a certain occupation that's been common in your family, a company where friends or family members work? Anything you could get into via connections, can you pull strings somewhere? Something that's familiar?

If by chance your temple is yourself and your own ideas - in other words maybe something entrepreneurial - can you think of anything like that to try? (Hexagram 1 is the idea person rather than the one who implements things.)

7.2 to 2, the Army being responsive. In WikiWing, one of Clarity's subscription areas, there are a number of examples where the "three times" was literal. So maybe you'd get the third job you apply for.

But of course Yi isn't always/usually exactly literal, so it probably just means you'll have to keep trying. But the omen is good fortune, and it's "no mistake" to do this.

"Positioned in the centre of the army" Hilary says in WikiWing this is "the general's line" - being the general of your life, maybe? Not the king, though - the king's the one who gives the changing orders.

Hilary also says this:
If you are at the centre of things, already in there and working, then you will receive all the guidance you need as to what to do, and you will be given more responsibility. [...] This line means you're in the right place to receive guidance, not that the plan you currently have in mind will prove to be the right one.

By the way, we'd all really appreciate it if you could update this thread from several years ago

Did you move in with your friend? What do you think of the readings, in hindsight? How did your relationship end up, if you're okay with saying?
