Your point?

I guess 32 applies to gay marriage in your view Willow and Jesed ?
Why you guess that? "Guessing" like that, I can realize your fear to give conclusive answers.

Just wondered what you know with all the talk of husband and wife ?
Had you read the Wang Pi's quote? You can also say:
If due to the fact of which husband and wife are associated by Heng, one follows only the text of the words when study the hexagramas, what one had is husband and wife, but not Heng

Tell me about it.
Who is laying down rules as laws here as though from the mouth of God?

I want to comment on Rinda a moment. She councils people all day long, professionally, and has done so for many years, and she is adept with Yijing interpretation. I can't recall reading where she's told anyone, as though by law, what the Yi says to do. I take that as a good role model to learn from.

To autumn,

to each his own. I much prefer to read Wilhelm's interpretation/comments straight from his book.

Which horary chart do you wish to see?

Post the horary chart for Cherry finding a job closer to home in 3 months time along with your exact wording of the question in the Off Topic forum and let Astrologers take a look.

To bruce,

I, for one, am not laying down any rules, I am merely giving answers to questions. No rules, no laws only advice.
Well, thank goodness that at least one person in your humble opinion is adept with Yijing interpretation.

Another comment, since Cherry appears to have gone on holiday with Martin. :D

I like this. I think it’s great to voice all sides and points of view. It makes people think, and then decide these things for themselves.

I don't disagree with what you say about marriage, but only with the strength of your statement. There is a huge difference in telling someone what you think it means, or telling what you know it means.

In this case, for Cherrypicka, it is no disaster, she is quite clever herself, and can very well make her own decisions. But when this same strength is used for a querent who is insecure and confused, or in love and not able to think clearly, then it can overrule their own power to decide, or their own intuition.

I appreciate your concern for others a lot. It would just make you an even better diviner, if you did not think conclusive answers are better than open answers. Conclusive answers are for fortune tellers, and many people simply want their fortune told. It is so much easier, spares you the job of thinking, of having to live your life yourself.

If you want to feed someone for one day, then give him a fish. If you want to feed him for a lifetime, then give him a rod.

Some people don't like rods, they don't know how to fish, but with some guidance, they can learn. That is a lot more rewarding, both for them and for you.

To autumn,

I did not do a chart for that question, as far as I remember I used the Tao of I Ching and Blofeld's book to arrive at the *answer*.

LOL! What does this mean? There are many here who I view as very adept with Yijing interpretation. I like some of yours too, the ones which are open. There are also many here far more knowledgeable than myself. I'm here to help and to be helped. I ask questions frequently on this board, because I recognize my own limits, and also the limits of Wilhelm, though Wilhelm is often still my first go-to. But I've long since moved beyond Confucianism, also thanks in part to those who contribute to this forum.

To bruce,

I am quite overwhelmed by the fact that you do indeed like some of my utterings, heady praise indeed. I do not set limits on myself, I just keep on trucking.

Thats it for tonight, see you all tomorrow.

I've been reading and re-reading Jesed's last post and I can't understand it either.. Can you elaborate, Jesed?
And why do you think it's bad to "guess like that" when we don't know the answer. Trojan was asking a question, was she wrong to try to guess the answer??

As far as you remember? Are you serious? And you really think it's ok to give advice based on readings that you don't share the method for, and then don't remember later.

I could have sworn you had implied somewhere else that you used a Western Horary chart somewhere else, but I was probably thinking of another question.

Jesed perhaps you misunderstood the use of my word 'guess' or maybe not.

I was using 'guess' in the slang way as another word for 'think'. It means if there is no evidence to the contrary that is what I have decided. Ie a person asks "is the class running today ?" The answer 'I guess so' would mean not that I literally am guessing but that I think it will be as there is no reason to suppose not, phew.

In other words where I come from to say 'I guess so' means 'I think it must be so though I am not 100% certain'

Therefore I was saying "I am assuming your understanding of marriage in 32 extends to gay marriage also ?" In other words I cannot be 100% certain of your point of view.

FWIW I never had any issue with your methods or your way of interpreting answers for people. I have never doubted your integrity, even if I don't understand your system I know you are genuinely deriving answers from that system not just randomly making things up. I also think you consider carefully how you answer people.

Hi rosada,

thanks for explaining to the folks what horary astrology is all about. As for the time used, the chart is set up for the exact time when the person or third party (the astrologer) understands the question asked. The client could have thought of the question many days before seeing an astrologer but that does not matter.

When I did the chart for moonrise, the moon was trine (120 degrees aspect) to mars the ruler of the 2nd house his/her money. Jupiter, co-ruler of the first house could not be used, therefore the moon was taken as co-significator of the person asking the question. The moon would complete the aspect in 1 degree and 28 minutes. As the moon was in a cardinal sign and a succedent house, the time is weeks, therefore 1 degree 28 minutes is about 10 days into the future, ie, 13th or 14th of September.
Also, mars was in the 7th house, the house of others partners etc indicating that he/she would be able to do business with others and the moon was in the 11th indicating business with clients.

This must be the horary chart for Moonrises question on money, but not Cherrys question.

Hello All,

Thank you ALL so much for all the good advice and valuable thoughts! (So many wise people all answering in one forum)! - I have to admit that sometimes I almost didn't want to interrupt the entertaining banter between you guys ; )

Firstly, I just wanted to clarify something....I have been to this site on a couple of occasions, as you all know, looking for help with interpretations (rather than predictions). Sometimes I EVEN look for help with interpretations regarding daft questions such as my post about the young guy in my office because I believe it's important to be free-minded enough to ask the unaskable questions (PC or non-PC!).

I think it's quite clear in my post that I asked about this young guy because he was so unbelievably kind and helpful to me when I was just starting the job and because there was already such a good rapport between us when I had only known him a matter of a few hours - not because there were any indications that anything could happen - on either side. AND I got the answer I expected, and quickly realized that this line of questioning was a dead-end if ever there was one!

(I think that Willowfox especially must understand the idea of asking the unaskable questions - since she herself asked the unaskable when she posted the question about the murder of the child beauty queen...... we don't always ask the questions that others THINK we should ask, do we?)

I would really like details of your Horary Astrology reading, WillowFox, regarding the finding a new (dream) job in three months. I am ashamed to admit to all you folks that I have sometimes been weak-minded enough to begin to hope..and even expect that another dream job could be out there.. (i.e when I feel particularly emotionally drained like on Mondays when we have to leave eachother) And yes, I have been EVEN looking at the job pages...!

I now realize, in my more emotionally balanced moments - and also after the valuable input on this site, that following such a precise answer, I really SHOULD have requested more detailed evidence for it, (e.g. an Horary Astrology chart with explanations, or something?) since you were kind and concerned enough to do it on my behalf, Willowfox.

Mind you, having said that, I don't think I could have requested such a chart, since you didn't specifically say you had used this method when I asked how you had come to this conclusion - I remember wondering if you had done a Tarot reading or if you were clairvoyant or something.

I've also been really intrigued to read the interpretations regarding the dream about having to exchange my big smart black suitcase for the less smart suitcase that belonged to someone else.

Thanks so much everyone!

PS; sorry if my reply is overly long!

Oh, dear, I hope you never give up hope. It's amazing what hope can draw into our reality, and visualizing even more so. But we must have a pretty clear idea of what we're hoping for before hope can do its magic. That's the area I've been inquiring with you about: what do you want? What can "the gods/energies/etc" bring to you if you don't know what it is you really want? Not saying everything falls into place exactly how you would want it; there's usually unexpected surprises involved, but to make your priorities clear to yourself is the first step in achieving that.

If you think your questions are dumb you ought hear some of mine! But Yi is patient; if one were to attribute a human characteristic to it, I'd say it is compassionate and incredibly understanding of what it is inside of us which makes us ask such a questions, and in my experience, that's most of all what the Yi addresses.

I'll try to elaborate a little more:

jesed said:
For me, the point is not the person is married or not.. is the issue of the question. The consultant requieres endurance in that issue (legally marriage or not)

So, 32 can be applied to heterosexual marriage; to homosexual marriage; to commitment of a single people with his/her job... or to the self-development of his/her personality. It doesn't matter... the endurance (symbolized by the marriage) is the matter.

Marriage is a metaphora... the metaphora try to concite a meaning.... one need to forget the image to achieve the meaning....

Best wishes

Hi autumn,

I see that you are still rattling about in my cupboard.

I am so sorry but last night I could not find the notes that I had made about Cherry's question. I have used horary on other questions but not that particular one. Of course if Cherry wishes to ask another question about her employment then I would be quite happy to answer it using horary. Anyway, I am searching my desk now.

Whats the joke ? I knew it was the horary chart for Moonrise. I knew I had seen a horary chart somewhere and thought this maybe the one Autumn thought she had seen.

Do you have to continue to be insulting ? What is pretty funny is its clear by your backtracking you never did do a horary chart for Cherry. To say you used Blofeld to come up with 'you will find a job in 3 months' is hilarious.

Whats funny Rosada ???

Hi All,

Bruce - thanks so much for your encouraging and wise words. I particularly like your 'it's amazing what hope can draw into your reality'. That is such an open-ended point of view.

Willowfox - I'm intriged to see that rather than reply directly to me i.e. my request for details of your Horary Astrology chart that you did for me - you have been discussing the issue with other members of the forum - for example;

Your post to Autumn;"Of course if Cherry wishes to ask another question about her employment then I would be quite happy to answer it using horary."

Hello?

I just posted yesterday-before your last reply...Could you not address your reply to me directly, as well as to Autumn?

I find it difficult to believe that you no longer have the details of the original Horary Astrology chart and how you came to your very definite and precise conclusion - see your posts on page 1 and 2 of this thread;

"I believe if you get on your horse and travel the countryside you will certainly find another dream job much closer to home and heart. When, in the next 2-3 months"

and when I asked for details of HOW you came by this knowledge;

"Hi..it is kind of hard of to explain how I arrived at this conclusion but I think that if you start looking now you can indeed find another dream job closer to your home this year"

It seems clear that you didn't believe you would ever have to have to refer back to your prophesy once you had made it or ever have to explain how it came about.

Hi cherry,

I am very sorry that I did not write to you directly but I have been having a very lively time with the other folk here. I had to go shopping this morning and just plain forgot to say hello.
Cherry, I hate to disappoint you but I never did a horary chart for that first question. But to be quite honest with you it is not a problem because another chart can be done when you really feel in need of an answer, no drama. Well, you are right about believing that I would not have to refer back, so I threw the notes that I made in the bin. I never expected that the Inquisition would come after me, I suppose I will be burned good and proper for this terrible crime. I have been trying all day to figure out where I got that answer from, oh dear.....

Willowfox,

I'm sorry?

Am I to understand you don't KNOW where you got this information from.............?

And it WASN'T from ANY interpretation of the hexagrams 8 - union ->changing lines 2, 4 and 5 -> 40 - Deliverance from the I Ching?

I'm sorry, I don't believe you.

I think that you remember VERY well how you came by this info, but you're either afraid or unwilling to say for whatever reason.

However, after all of this confusion I think you should keep your prophesies for another site ( a site where you CAN feel comfortable explaining your methods) and just stick to interpreting people's hexagrams on OnlineClarity.

I would like to say that, apart from this, I have recieved a heck of a lot of helpful input regarding this particular issue, which has and still is causing considerable emotional stress. I just hope I have the courage to do the right thing by all involved.
