Click someone's name on the forum, and you'll see a little popup card with their details (plus buttons to click to start a conversation or follow them). Click on their name on that card, and you'll be taken to their profile.

Your profile is where people can learn more about you: your latest posts, any personal updates you add as 'profile posts', and your 'about' section.

Editing your profile

Fill in the 'about' section via your 'Account details' page. (You can find a link to this in the main Community menu under 'membership'.)

The avatar you upload here will appear next to all your posts. (There's no separate 'profile picture' option; you can add pictures in the 'about you' section.)

Controlling who sees what

Do this via the 'Privacy' settings (see the link in the left-hand menu) - I suggest you set these preferences  before you add many details. You can control who can see what (your social media links, for instance), and also who can start a conversation with you. There are four options:

• public: everybody on the internet who finds their way to your page
• members only: all logged-in mmbers
• only people you follow (by clicking on their name anywhere it appears on the forum and clicking the 'follow' button on their card)
• nobody (except you)
